With the gaps in my memory, I imagine there are people I've met who I wouldn't remember at all...though I can't quite wrap my head around the thought of entire other selves.

That part I don't have much choice but to accept. I've had a few dealings with a handful of mine.
Of the ones I've seen, one was just me if I stopped caring about grooming and personal hygiene while succumbing to the call of the Book of the Damned. Another was clean-shaven and his cloak was blue - that's where the patch on the Cloak comes from. And one had a ponytail.
I can create duplicate images of myself, but Iβm afraid your hand would just pass right through if you tried to touch. Theyβre more of a defensive measure.
I've used a couple hundred in battle. It's not a spell I use a lot, and in that much bulk it's difficult to control individuals or make the spell hold for long under any pressure, but if I'm only making a few...
